Special Review of the Frost SERIES!

Before I begin I just want to take a moment to let you know how I personally write my reviews.  I use a special tool while writing my reviews.  But not only that I use it in any of my writings.  It works on Facebook as well so you can do away with those tiresome grammar nazi's who correct you when they disagree with what you've written.  The fabulous program:

I use Grammarly's online plagiarism checker, because I need to be sure I don't spoil the book for you by being a copy cat in my review, and I truly hate spoilers!

Today I have a little something special.  I have a double review for you.  I was given the first two books in the Frost Series, written by Liz DeJesus.  And I can honestly say that if you have children who love fairytales this is the book for them or for YOU!  This book is not strictly for children.

I've taken the time to review each book individually, and I have provided you with the blurb and the cover photo to make it easy.  I've also given you the Kindle link to the book.  This way you can just hop on out and grab a copy for yourself or your loved ones.

I will give you a quick overview.  This series is fabulous.  It is an enjoying romp through fairytales, and so many interesting twists and turns.  You will love the story and will definitely want to continue on the series.

If that interests you then by all means read on... You carriage awaits...

Fairytales aren’t real…yeah…that’s exactly what Bianca thought. She was wrong.
For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”

Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

She’s about to find out how wrong she is.

I have always loved Fairytales.  It's one of the reasons why I loved the TV show "Once Upon a Time". What Liz DeJesus has created in these books is a brand new take on the old stories.  These books will suck you in and delight even the most reluctant readers.  But it isn't just for the kids.  Oh no, don't let the label YA fool you, this book is by no means for kids only!

We have Bianca Frost, who is 17 years old.  Her best friend is Ming, and their lives are about to be changed forever.  Bianca works in her mother's Museum.  A fabulous place which has relics of all the fairy tales.  But what Bianca didn't know is that the fairy tales are all REAL!

I can't go into any details because there is just so much to say about this book and I am seriously afraid that I will give it all away.  What I will say is the Characters are strongly written, believable and enjoyable.  The plot moves along at a fairly fast pace and keeps you absorbed in the story.  The world creation is detailed but not so much that it is an information dump.  It literally sucks you in and you can see the home the Three Little Pigs built of bricks.  You can see the different story characters come to life.  This is an amazing book, and I am sure that you and your children will love it.  This book is easily appropriate for children, I passed it along to my 10 year old son. It can even be read aloud, although if you do that I fear your kids won't go to sleep very early!

The link to purchase it is above and I HIGHLY recommend this 5 star read to young and old alike.

When joined together, Cinderella's slippers grant the wearer her heart's desire. But whose wish will be granted?

When Cinderella’s glass slipper is stolen, Queen Felicia sends her faithful steward Terrance to the real world to retrieve his love and witch-in-training, Bianca Frost. The power of the glass slipper, when paired with its mate, and in the wrong hands, could ruin the peace of Everafter. Bianca must gather every bit of magic she has learned in the past few weeks to find the slipper and protect her new love. Together, Bianca, Ming, Prince Ferdinand, and Terrance venture deep into the heart of Everafter to seek clues as to who has stolen the slipper and why. Along the way, they uncover what happened to the Seven Dwarves after Snow White married the prince, but also learn the awful risk of tampering with black magic and the high price that must be paid for magic, even when used for good.

Bianca and Terrance’s relationship is put to the test. Through the pain of suffering and loss, Bianca must determine if following her gallant boyfriend into his faraway world is in fact her heart's desire.

Now first I must say that this is book 2 in the Frost Series, and I HIGHLY recommend that you read book 1 first.  I also must say that one of my favorite stories when my children were young enough for me to read to them was the tale of Cinderella.  In fact my youngest Susie, went through a period where she wanted to be called Cindy and dressed in her Cinderella outfit so often she wore it out.

That being said this was nothing at all like what I expected from a Cinderella shoe search!  There is a LOT of action in this book, so much so that it will keep you flipping the pages long after you are supposed to be in bed.  *fair warning parents this book will suck your child in and you won't get them to bed on time*

Again the Character Creation is fabulous,  Bianca is a lovable young lady, Terrance is an interesting male lead and again Ming is just too cute for words.  Best friends will follow you to the ends of the world, this one follows Bianca to a new world!  How much more besties can they be?

I will NOT go into any details on the story, to do so may slip out a few things that will spoil it, so I will just say I HIGHLY recommend this 5 star read to anyone young or old alike.  I think that this story was even more enjoyable than the first book which says something about the Authors talent for writing.  The adventures will keep you on the edge of your seat, and will keep you wondering what is going to happen next.  I will just say one little teeny tiny thing, I loved the dwarfs and I do so hope we see more of them in future books.
